On Friday, October 30th, Betty Temple spoke on the keynote panel for Women Influence & Power in the Law (“WIPL”) - a networking conference for women lawyers in Washington, DC. The discussion, titled, Pioneering Women Influencers: Lessons in Leadership, provided advice to women lawyers on climbing the ladder to leadership. The conference is heavily attended by in house counsel and Betty’s comments twice inspired resounding applause for her achievements at Womble Carlyle. Betty built strong relationships with her co-panelists Maureen Brundage, Executive VP, General Counsel and Chief Ethics Officer for The Chubb Corporation, Vanessa Somon, General Counsel for TheStreet, Inc., and Ann Armstrong, VP and Associate GC for Intel Corporation. While Betty was taking the stage, Business Litigation partner Cathy Hinger was working the room. This is the second year Cathy Hinger attended WIPL and she facilitated Betty’s speaking role through her relationships with the organization.
