WILMINGTON, DEL.—Back-to-back champs! For the second consecutive year, the Wilmington Friends School Mock Trial Team coached by Womble Carlyle attorney Ericka Johnson won first place in the Delaware State Mock Trial Competition.
In fact, the Wilmington Friends School team went into the final round having won every ballot from each of three scoring judges in first four rounds.
This year’s competition took place Feb. 24th-25th in Wilmington. Womble Carlyle attorneys Mark Desgrosseilliers and Nick Verna volunteered and served as scoring judges for rounds in which Wilmington Friends did not compete, while Daniel Attaway is a member of the Delaware State Mock Trial Case Committee.
The Wilmington Friends Team now will represent Delaware in the National High School Mock Trial Championship, which takes place May 11th-13th in Hartford, Conn.
Attorney Jody Barillare also serves as lawyer-coach for the team.
