Alex Park is a Corporate & Securities partner in Womble Carlyle’s District of Columbia office.
His practice focuses on advising and guiding clients on their critical business and capital market transactions and general corporate and securities matters, with a particular emphasis on real estate, technology, government contracts and start-up enterprises. Specifically, Alex focuses on:
Alex’s broad and considerable legal and executive business skills and experience allow him to guide clients—either companies or investors—through the entire lifecycle of businesses, as they traverse from a start-up, private funding, initial growth and operations, accessing public capital markets, compliance and governance matters, organic or accretive growth, and exit or similar transactions.
Alex’s business and legal experiences include the representation of some of the largest investment banks, private equity and investment funds, and publicly-traded companies. Alex’s transactional and client advisory experience cover a wide spectrum in terms of complexity, types of transactions, and industries. In connection with larger and more complex transactions, Alex also managed and oversaw a team of lawyers with specialty areas of law to address various legal and related matters, such as shareholder and other litigation, regulatory, tax, executive compensation, employee benefits, finance, corporate communications, real estate, and environmental.
Alex has considerable experience with public capital market transactions, having represented numerous public company issuers and all major investment banks in connection with an aggregate of over 80 common and preferred equity, and debt securities offerings totaling more than $10 billion in total. His public company issuer clients have included some of the largest publicly-traded real estate, as well as managed healthcare, technology, and other companies. Similarly, his investment banking clients have included some of the largest and well-known institutions. Alex has also represented a number of underwriters as lead attorney in common stock and public debt offerings, resulting in aggregate proceeds of more than $15 billion. Underwriters include Merrill Lynch, BoA, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, UBS, Lehman Brothers, Wachovia Securities, JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, and Stifel in connection with offerings by Equity Residential, Taubman Properties, UDR, Sovran Storage, Penn REIT, JDN, and other REITs.

Private Investment Fund
Alex is able to assist private investment fund clients with the complex process of forming and investing funds, representing the funds in connection with negotiating with investors, acquisition and disposition transactions, and related governance matters. Alex has represented various private investment funds, including Federal Capital Partners and Callahan Capital Partners, that focus on commercial real estate segment.
